We're very pleased to announce that the audiobook version of 1-2 Cut Your Hair! The Story of Johnny Moped is out today! Written by Simon Williams, and read by legendary Croydon DJ Peter Fox!
It's released to tie-in with the Croydon Punk Film Festival at the David Lean Theatre, which starts today with a screening of Fred Burns' documentary film Basically Johnny Moped, followed by a Q&A with Fred, and Johnny and Marty from the Mopeds.

Happy 70th birthday Johnny! In honour of Mr Moped’s big day, we’re very pleased to release this limited edition 7” which coincides with his group’s show at London’s 229 Club on November 18th. It’s available on red or blue vinyl (300 copies each). The red vinyl edition is only available to buy at the gig. The blue vinyl edition is available via mail order from Damaged Goods or from your clued-up local record shop.
The record features two brand new tracks. ‘Lockdown Boy’ was written during and about the recent Covid lockdowns. It captures everything that’s great about the band and is set to become a firm fan favourite. On the flip is a fittingly titled track ‘The Other Side’ featuring a spoken word vocal. It’s an exclusive version of a track that may well feature in a different form on the band’s next album, set for release sometime in 2024. So, here’s to Johnny – raise a glass and play the record loud!
