Listen up you dopes, you charlatans, there’s a new Quick Romance single looming..

It’s pronounced… It’s dangerous…. It’s an eruption of life that makes the Cambrian Explosion look like a “burp” in time.

The live B-side ‘If You Wanna Talk Punk, Let’s Go In The Kitchen!’ takes its name from a line in ‘Out Of The Blue’, the “troubled teen” drama from 1980 starring Linda Manz as Cindy “Cebe” Barnes, the runaway minor saved only by her love of Elvis Presley, Sid Vicious and Johnny Rotten.

The A-side ‘Punk of The Month’ starts with a Big Bang that renders the whole gang aghast, reeling with shock and horror, and it ends with the primal scream of the wildcat Gene Vincent prewarned us of way back in ‘59.

Vocalist Matilda Scotland wears her jeans mean and low-slung, her brand new two-tone boxing boots ready to do battle. Match her in your dreams. Is she the Punk Of The Month? Who else is fit to claim the crown?

Guitarist Hayden James uses his six-string razor to carve his way through the song, culminating in a one-take guitar solo that only this cat could pull off. He is a fine contender for “Punk Of The Month”, but is it his turn yet?

Gabe Bonner-Thomas low rumbles his way through the song like a portending storm, fast and dynamic, his melodic basslines warranting your full attention. If you need a strong and silent ‘Punk Of The Month’, Gabe’s your man.

Oliver Bull-Lifely enters the building cymbals crashing and fists flying, offering a veritable punch-up of life-threatening beats, knocking his nemesis “Sick Phil” to the ground with a heat-seeking uppercut. He’s down! He’s out! Poor “Sick Phil”.

Quick Romance are back to rattle your cages and choke your chains. Let them in. They are here to celebrate life. They are Damaged Goods recording artists. They are the sane choice, life-affirming, alive and well and ready to rock!

To return to our question, who will be the ‘Punk of the Month’? It depends. What are the required standards? When will be the month? And most importantly, who was Ronald Binder? All these questions, and more, will be addressed and answered in a furious two minutes and five seconds. Feast your ears!

Cometh the month, cometh the Punk!

Thanks for reading this far...if indeed you did!

Have a fantastic weekend!

IAN & DUNCAN
