DEBUT 7” by Brighton-based indiepop band! As heard on John Kennedy's Radio X show, Riley & Coe's BBC 6Music show, and Mickey Bradley's BBC Radio Ulster show!

We will be releasing the debut Amelia & The Housewives single digitally on April 11th, with the vinyl following a week later. We loved these tracks straight away. Small wonder that the band’s live hometown debut quickly sold out, or that they were recently selected for the BBC’s Fresh Faves!

Here’s what the band told us when we asked for a bio! ...

Amelia & The Housewives formed in May 2024 when Amelia met Lola at a Julie London/Peter & The Test Tube Babies tribute night at the Valley Social Centre and decided to form a band. With Tim on guitar, Dan on drums, and Will on bass they recorded a bunch of songs on the hottest day of the year. Sadly, Will left them at the start of 2025, but they are hoping Steve Housewive, stays a bit longer. The band’s ambition is to play Eastbourne bandstand, find out if Puffins are real and form an Amelia & The Housewives tribute band. They are recording some more songs soon.

The Milkshakes - MILKSHAKES IV: The Men With The Golden Guitars (LP)

**RELEASE DATE TBC / PRE-SALE COMING SOON**

Instrumental album from 1983! The band’s 4th LP, finally back on vinyl!

The 'Track Withdrawn' from previous issues has now been reinstated in the form of 'The Wrong Man'!

Having endured no less than three long-players and a brace of singles featuring the caterwauling of Messrs Hampshire and Childish, the Milkshakes’ audience figured it might be time for an instrumental outing. In response the group gave them just that.
But this was to be no run-of-the-mill effort – no Dick Dale-esque surf marathons or Shadowsy twangers are apparent here. These tunes are more ‘rhythm-and-mood’-based compositions; occasionally leaning more towards the Link Wray end of the spectrum – as you would probably expect.
This IVth album (hence the name) was recorded in 1983 at Oakwood Studios – as were all previous releases – but this was the first in their new facilities in a converted church near Canterbury, which opened up a whole new golden vista of shimmering, silvery sounds in atmospheric conditions. Of course, the Milkshakes were having none of that.

We suggest you plonk the wax on your gramophone and let whatever happens happens.

Hasty bananas.

The Courettes - Back In Mono (PIC DISC LP)

The Courettes' third album Back In Mono is a milestone in their career so far. “Spit ´n´snarl garage rumble-meets-Phil Spector pop” showcasing the band in top form – great songwriting skills, Spector-esque arrangements, with broader nuances, influences and production qualities added to their garage rock recipe.

Fourteen Wagnerian teen-trash-tragedy masterpieces – it’s as if The Ronettes and The Ramones were invited to a wild party in Gold Star Studios’ echo chamber. Fuzz guitars, loud drums, trashy pianos, jingle bells, tambourines and three-minute dance floor garage killers where a Wall of Sound blasts the songs out of the speakers!

Produced and recorded by Søren Christensen at Starr Sound Recording Studios in Denmark and mixed by top producer/wall of sound aficionado Seiki Sato in Japan.

The Courettes - The Soul Of... The Fabulous Courettes (ORANGE VINYL LP)

From the glorious opening beats and stabbing fuzz honks of ‘You Woo Me’ to the closing emotional tugs of ‘For Your Love’ via ‘SHAKE!’’s fuzzed-up urgency and ‘California’’s celebratory warmth, The Courettes have broadened their sound with an increased musical instrumentation and overall sophistication that’s evident in both their sound and songwriting. And crucially, they’ve achieved this without sacrificing any of the rock’n’roll grit that’s been scraped from Flavia’s guitar strings and Martin’s battered and pummelled drums. And aiding them in their quest for sonic perfection are a few guest musicians and back-room wizards playing some very specific roles.
