Thee Mighty Caesars were formed by Billy Childish, Graham Day & John Agnew in 1985 after the demise of The Milkshakes and alongside The Prisoners.
A major influence on many American bands, especially The Mummies, Pearl Jam, Nirvana and many other Sub Pop groups. They were arguably the group that brought about the resurgence of garage rock.

Thee Spivs are back with their third album in as many years and with ‘The Crowds and The Sounds’ they’ve honed their canny blend of trad punk, garage punk, post punk, new wave, classic English rock’n’roll and pub rock to create a magnificently varied album. Dare we say, these young men have matured, with Ben Edge proving his worth as an accomplished songwriter. Drawing from a more diverse array of influences, Thee Spivs have lapped up and reimagined sounds from bands such as The Television Personalities, The Ramones and early Wire.
The new album is a natural progression from their critically acclaimed debut ‘Taped Up’ (which landed the band an early Mojo Rising feature and a Guardian New Band of the Day piece as well as praise in The Sunday Times and Artrocker) and last year’s ‘Black and White Memories’ (with reviews including Q, Uncut and BBC). ‘The Crowds and The Sounds’ is instantly more melodic and you can see additional influences from the very British qualities of The Kinks. The songs are slowed down and slightly longer in length, with a lot more thought and work in to each one than the furiously fast, punchy numbers from their early records.
There's to be an album launch gig in good old London town, here's the flyer.
Copies of the previous single "All Our Forts Are With You" proved very popular and sold out on advance orders alone. With that in mind we're giving you early notice that the debut album by CTMF, again called "All Our Forts Are With You", along with a second single "36 Years Later", will be released in late June/early July.
There'll be LP and CD versions of the album, the single will be on 7", all avaliable digitally too. The B-side on the 7" is called "Chatham Forts", parts of which are from the very first song that Billy Childish ever wrote. Only now has he got round to recording and releasing it! These items are not available for pre-order as yet and more info will follow in due course. What we will let you know is that for the first time in Damaged Goods' history, the album will be supplied by the artist himself without us having any say input in the artwork or packaging. All the design and packaging will be done by Mr Chyldish himself! More details to follow as and when.
