BRAND NEW 2 TRACK 7” SINGLE
400 COPIES ONLY ON 7” VINYL
BOTH TRACKS EXCLUSIVE TO THIS SINGLE
Another year and another name…
This band is a little different to the recent stuff coming from Mr Childish, for a start he’s back on lead vocals, the sound is more akin to The Mighty Caesers / Headcoats with even a little of The Pop Rivets in there as well, a slightly angular, new wave approach.
We will have the album coming out in the summer of 2013.
Oh yeah, it also has Jimmy Cauty and Bill Drummond on it as well…I'm sure you know who they are!
to describe the lead track 'house in the woods' as anything less than a modern day folk classic (......in waiting) would be doing it a disservice, nay dishonest, and honesty - sometimes in its most brutal of forms - is a quality that shines through brightly over the singing loins back catalogue, highlighting the rich tapestry of life embroidered in their gritty corner of the garden of england. a simple, heartfelt plea for a lifestyle away from the unnecessary distractions and irritations of the modern daily grind.....idealistic or idyllic? who's to say, but it captures an emotion that probably exists to a degree in all of us without sounding like a fanciful delusion but rather a genuine urge to live the life of the rich and contented (in mind, body, spirit and soul at least). similarly 'ain't the world a lovely place', another stalwart crowd pleaser, deserved a revamp having previously only been captured for posterity in billy childish's bog back in 1994. a stirring anthem for the dispossessed, dispirate and otherwise disposed, and another sideways look at the world that the loins so excel at when at their rootsy populist best. so, there you are, having listened to these two delightful slices of 'authentic raw folk from the medway delta' hopefully you will find that they are proof positive that the singing loins are one of the best little undiscovered, and absolutely unpolished, musical gems just waiting to be dug up and presented to a public that has been 'digging' fake pearls for too many years now. they make no bones about it, they know that what they do is not for consumption by the masses, but some of us know that the public will respond every once in a while to something that can marry a stonking tune to the right amount of integrity and wit, something the loins possess in spades....
