*Holly Golightly & Dan Melchior - Desperate Little Town (CD/LP/Digi)*[image 3 400x400]Reissue of a great lost album, a collaboration between Holly Golightly & Dan Melchior that was originally released on Sympathy For The Record Industry Records from California, it's been out of print for around eight years and Holly & Dan thought it was about time we put that right.
Recorded in London and California in 1999 with long time friend Bruce Brand on percussion this album features 10 tracks, some of which you'll know if you've seen Holly play in the last decade like "Directly From My Heart" & "Further On Up The Road" but here they're given very warm re-workings.
If Dan Melchior is new to you then here's a brief history, he was born in England, now based in the states, his first album was with Billy Childish (Devil In The Flesh), he made another 15 or so plus loads of singles, he played in Holly's band for years and his "Broke Review" albums came out on "In The Red" records, his current combo is Dan Melchior und Das Menace and he's rather good.
We are hoping to release some of his new solo stuff later this year. Here's a list of Dan's upcoming gigs, (please check with venue before setting off.)

*Sunday May 15th - What's Cookin'? North Star, Browning Road, Leytonstone, London. E11 3AR.*
From 7.00pm, support from Galley Beggar.
www.whatscookin.co.uk *Monday 30th May (bank holiday) Love Music Hate Racism, Chatham Riverside, Kent.*
4.45-5.30pm probably in the RAFA Hall, but possibly on the outdoor stage (!) (No Johnny big bass for this one.) I'm sure this entire festival, and certainly our performance, will be dedicated to the memory of Bob Wade. Bob was a prime mover in many decent local causes, a proper humane bloke. He requested his favourite song 'Ain't The World A Lovely Place' to be played at his funeral, and we'll be honoured to do it on this day with hats off.
*Friday, June 24th, Dunkirk, France. Citadelle En Bordees Festival. Seaman's Hall at 9.00pm.*
Much international jollity on stages and in bars all around the port. The Norfolk line ferry is only 20 quid from Dover and runs every couple of hours.
