Hello Folks!Well the nights are drawing in, Ian's been full of cold this week, and Hull City are in the relegation zone. But it's not all bad news! Read on peeps!
Reverse - Glance Sideways CDThis is a 23 track CD compilation bringing together all of REVERSE’s recordings including the three 7” singles we released back in 1995-6 ‘Stem The Slide’ (Which was ‘Single of the week’ in KERRANG! ‘Lock’ & ‘Stagnant’ plus their tracks from their debut split single plus 15 unreleased gems.
The CD contains a full history of the band written by lead singer Nick Sharratt plus loads of unseen photos, reviews and a full discography.
Reverse Jam formed in Barlaston near Stock in 1990, they dropped the ‘Jam’ shortly afterwards, their first proper gig was with the Venus Beads in 1991, lots of local shows followed and by the end of 1992 they had released their debut singles, a split with Exit Condition on Vitamin Z. They signed to Damaged Goods for three singles in 1995, they received some great press including SOTW in Kerrang and strong reviews in the NME plus loads of Radio 1 airplay nad very nearly signed to Mushroom records, which was scuppered when Rupert Murdoch brought the label in 1996, he wasn’t a fan!
They eventually split in 1997 after a final recording session with Frankie Stubbs from Leatherface, heard for the first time on this release.

[image 2 400x400]A Damaged Christmas Gift For You - download only compilationYes it’s a Damaged Goods Christmas Compilation featuring some of the best Christmas tracks we’ve released over the last 20 odd years.
Holly Golightly has two tracks on here, one from a couple of years back ‘Christmas Tree On Fire and one from 2002 with The Green Hornes (some of who are now in the Raconteurs) called ‘Little Stars.
Billy Childish has three with three different bands, The MBE’s excellent Christmas 1979, The Buff Medways ‘Merry Christmas Fritz’ and a really early DG release Thee Headcoatees ‘Santa Claus’ (originally Damgood12, a 7” Picture Disc)
We have last years Xmas 7” Goldblade and Poly Styrenes ‘City Of Christmas Ghosts’ as well as 2005’s TV Smith single ‘Xmas Bloody Xmas’ plus 2001’s Helen Love Xmas 7” ‘Merry Christmas (I Don’t Wanna Fight’
Then we have brand new exclusive tracks from The Cute Lepers and The Singing Loins and a great new band called ‘Severe’.
Last up we have a couple of obscure tracks from the 1994 and 1996 christmas singles, Wat Tyler doing ‘God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen’ and Monkhouse (a great lost band from Belfast’ doing ‘Guinness And Wine’.
This will soon be up for download only. It would have been nice for a vinyl and CD release but time has been against us. Though it may well appear on a physical release next year (when we pull our fingers out!). Cover's ace though innit!

Piney Gir - For The Love Of Others 7"This years Damaged Goods Christmas single is by Piney Gir
And it’s a corker…
Piney Gir, sometime electronic exotica lover (Peakahokahoo); genuine all-American country girl (The Piney Gir Country Roadshow), returns to the musical fray with her most accomplished album to date… The Yearling.
An ambitious and darling blend of her inspired songwriting and deft way with genre, The Yearling combines delicate heartbreak folk (The Weeping Machine) with straight to the bop pop (Say I'm Sorry), whilst plying her way with a campfire narrative (Miss Havisham) and all of it dipped in the gal's never less than pin-sharp eye for a great story about the wanderings of the heart.
Pulling in a parade of collaborators spanning country slides, orchestral strings, found sounds, saw playing food gurus and, hush! even a celebrity appearance on a love-gone-wrong duet, this is Piney's most dazzling record yet. Quite a cocktail… the simple structures of her country record with a shot of heartbreak that comes from the moonshine of life’s own harsh still. The Yearling fuses cutting edge production taking a nod from German electronica, spanning its way to warm 70s FM radio with a loving how-do-you-do to musique concrète.
Due for release in December, this will be up for pre-order on the web-shop soon.

Louis Lingg And The Bombs - Hate Your Laws EPLouis Lingg and the Bombs are goddamn punk-rock-garage-pop-anarcho saviours of the 2 and half minute pop song. They come from Paris where they regularly blow up little bars with explosions of snot and beer fuelled punk rock energy.
The group is named after Louis Lingg, the famous Chicago anarchist who committed suicide on death row in 1887. Some of their songs are ultra-political anarchist punk rock and some of their songs are like children's nursery rhymes. ALL of their song's are full of interesting pop hooks and melodies and they are sung with energy and commitment.
The line up:
Josh (ex-Tchiki Boum, ex-In Vitro, Producer of Underground Railroad, Foxglove, First Part, Flashing on Bright, King of Conspiracy and NMA ) on Vocals and Guitar.
Rudi Pourri (from Udigrudi) on Bass and Vocals.
Ben Flob (visual artist) on Guitar and Vocals.
Gilbertmuda (ex- The Troglodites) on Drums and Vocals.
Clem Phlegm (from Foxglove) on keyboards/ Julie Hate on vocals
Their influences:
Punk bands like The Briefs, The Epoxies, Antiflag, Pansy Division and The Dickies. They have a strong love of '77 style punk like The Buzzcocks, The Clash, The Adverts and The Undertones.
Never forgetting that they are children of the 90s having grown up with bands such as Nirvana, Bikini Kill, Sleater Kinney and The Butthole Surfers. In their song-writing however, their admiration of classic children's songs is clearly visible, as is their 60s influences; Shirley Ellis, Aretha Franklin and Nancy Sinatra.
After a series of demos, they finished their first 7 track CD EP in Dec 2006, In Sept 2007, they released the single Princess Mononoke in the UK on ORG Records to acclaim and radio play on XFM and Resonance FM. ‘Chomsky changed my life’, is on the new PPP Zine / Generation Extreme compilation (France).Conspiracy, is on volume nine of the Netbloc compilations released by Blocsonic. Blocsonic is run by members of Slamjamz, Public Enemy's record label.
This 5-track seven inch will be out in December, due up on the web-shop for pre-order soon.
