Hello folks,

Here's a little update of what's been keeping us busy at DG HQ. New releases, new signings and gigs. Happy days indeed!

The Singing Loins - New album + special price back catalogue CD's!!

The Singing Loins are back with their tenth album, proving that genius is nothing more than gritted teeth and enduring patience.‘Unravelling England’ features 12 brand new songs recorded as demos over a period of 18 months on a mate’s cheap digital machine. Due for release on 27th July, it's available for pre-order now.

Chris Broderick & Chris (Arfur) Allen started The Loins as a raw, stripped down acoustic duo in 1990 and soon had Medway legend Billy Childish in their corner. He recorded their first two albums live in his bathroom onto a mono Revox tape machine and released them on his Hangman label. These savage rarities are now swapping hands for big dollars on EBay and are often quoted as major influences by young purveyors of punk/folk.

Joined on ‘Unraveling England by double bass player, John Forrester, The Loins offer up another dozen short stories from the end of old England’s pier. Songs of underdogs, suicides, circus freaks, the bereaved, frustrated and heart-broken, the washed up and mentally ill. The jealousies, violence, hypocrisy and religion of humanity. And some pretty good tunes, too!

To celebrate the release of 'Unravelling England' we're offering a selection of the band's back catalogue for the great price of £5 per CD. This offer is for a limited period only and features the following titles - 'Complete and Utter', 'Songs To Hear Before You Die' and 'The Drowned Man Resuscitator'. Classic Album Revisited - The Snivelling Sh*ts - I Can't Come

First in an irregular series of records you may have missed is this classic from The Snivelling Sh*ts. Here's Ian Damaged talking about this release:-

"I always loved their single 'Terminal Stupid' that came out on Ghetto Rockers records in late 77 but I knew nothing about them, so when I started Damaged Goods it was something I wanted to unearth and possibly re-issue. I asked around and eventually someone mentioned that the main person behind the band was Giovanni Dadamo and that he worked in Records & Tape Exchange at Notting Hill, so I headed down there and eventually met him. We arranged to meet for a beer after he finished work and that's how the album came about. I showed him the Slaughter album and said I wanted to re-issue the 7" and he said did I want any other tracks, we met up at his parents house and searched through old boxes and dug up a whole load of cassettes and even an acetate or two.

We then went over to Dave Goodman's house and cleaned everything up and eventually put the album together. Photo's were found at Ray Stevenson's house and we had a cover. Gio put together a mock review of the album and we were away. One thing i never knew was that the Shits did have a second release called 'isgodaman?' as Arthur Comix on the Beggars Banquet compilation 'Streets'. The reason it was under a pseudonym was because Beggars didn't want the word SH*TS on the cover!! how punk!.

Giovanni also co wrote a couple of Damned songs 'I Just Can't Be Happy Today' and 'They're 'Aint No Sanity Claus'.

Gio died a few years back, it was a pleasure to have met him and recover these great tracks."

Available on CD or 12" pic disc LP. Click below if you'd like a copy.
